DIY taco night versus a caterer

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

FAQs for Ascot

Do you come out to small places like Ascot?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Could you serve in Silwood Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

Can guests build their own tacos?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.

Do you cover Ascot?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Ascot is within our area and the rest of Windsor and Maidenhead. To check your date, tell us about it on our contact page.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

How quickly can you serve a big group?

It is all in the planning. Share the timings and headcount and we’ll plan service to match.

The process

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Lunch service in Ascot is in daylight year-round; in December the sun sets at about 3:55pm. For an evening event later in the year, ask facilities about lighting the car park or courtyard.

  1. First, we check the date and the site.
  2. You pick tacos, bowls, a taco bar or a mix.
  3. We send the paperwork your venue asks for.
  4. Staff order at the hatch or the taco bar.
  5. Service runs to time, then we pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

Getting a price

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.
