Mexican catering for Boxford events

Mexican catering for your event in Boxford

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. For family celebrations and summer garden parties, we’ll put together a menu of burritos, loaded nachos and quesadillas.

For a rural spot like Boxford, fields and drives need a little planning: the gate, the ground and the route from the lane. We confirm power and water arrangements with you before the day. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our food truck or trailer.

Planning a food truck in Boxford

Boxford is about 4 miles north-west of Newbury, in West Berkshire. From the centre of Boxford to the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Boxford is one of 155 towns and villages in West Berkshire where we can bring Mexican catering. We cater right across the region, from Boxford to Reading (17 miles away).

By rail: the nearest station is Kintbury station, about 3.9 miles south-west. For a christening or wedding at a church such as Parish Church of St Andrew, a food truck at a garden or venue nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. Boxford is within about 8 miles of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, with country venues and gardens that can suit a food truck. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and catering, so check with yours.

Here we cover the RG20 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. We can cater an event on streets such as School Lane and Winterbourne Road. Close by, we cover events in Wickham Heath (1 mile south-west), Winterbourne (2 miles east), Stockcross (2 miles south), Bagnor (3 miles south-east) and North Heath (3 miles north-east). Further out, we also cater in Newbury (4 miles south-east), Thatcham (6 miles south-east), Burghfield Common (14 miles east), Speenhamland (3 miles south-east), Hungerford (6 miles west) and Calcot (14 miles east).

Well-known places in the area include British Balloon Museum & Library Ltd (3.8 miles south-east) and West Berkshire Community Hospital (4.6 miles south-east). Not far away are Sole Common Pond.

  • Local pubs include The Bell pub (under half a mile south-west)

Boxford: your questions answered

Will you travel to a small place like Boxford?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Parish Church of St Andrew?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you cater for special diets?

We can. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.

What space do you need?

Tell us about the venue and the way in, and we’ll confirm what we need. We also need room for a queue.

How many guests can you cater for?

Our service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Bigger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case.

What does Mexican catering cost?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Can you plan for allergies?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Who clears up?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

How it works

Your timings come first. If things run behind, let us know and we will adjust where we can. Evenings in Boxford stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. When you are done, we pack away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Planning help

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • How many staff you need
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Where the event is

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.

Working with your venue

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Tell us what other food is being served

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so everything goes out hot.

Quesadillas go down well with children.

Comparing your options

With a barbecue, someone typically ends up stuck at the grill. With us, the cooking happens in our truck or trailer, so you can enjoy your event. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.
