Mexican catering for your event in Byfleet

Mexican street food makes mixed diets simple. There are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, and allergen information is available for every dish. It works well for retirement and leaving parties and summer garden parties, with burrito bowls, quesadillas and tacos.

In a smaller place like Byfleet, your own garden, drive or a local hall is often the simplest option: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Tell us about access down the lane or drive. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and it makes mixed diets easy.

Quesadillas

Tortillas filled with melted cheese and a filling, toasted until crisp.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

FAQs for Byfleet

What’s the nearest station to Byfleet for guests?

Guests can use Byfleet & New Haw station, about 0.8 miles north of Byfleet.

How far is Byfleet from London?

It is about 20 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

How much does Mexican catering cost?

We do not publish set prices, because every event is different. Tell us your numbers and plans and we’ll send a quote for your event.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Can we add a bar?

Yes. Our Mexican drinks bar serves margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

How many guests can you cater for?

That depends on the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, but tell us your numbers and we will plan around them.

Can guests build their own tacos?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.

Is the food very hot?

That is your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

  • Fairs and festivals

  • Retirement and leaving parties

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Mary the Virgin, the food generally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck.

  • When payment is due
  • Space, access, power and water needs
  • How bad weather is handled
  • When final numbers are due

Our caterer checklist

Mexican catering or something else?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Byfleet

  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • A clear quote
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch

Read our pricing and the cost guide.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

How the day works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. In Byfleet, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
