Your questions about Mexican catering in Crosspost

Which station is closest to Crosspost?

Wivelsfield station, about 4.2 miles east of the centre.

We’re having a ceremony at St Mary Magdalene's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

Do you come to Crosspost?

Yes, we do. Crosspost is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

Can you set up at our venue?

Level, firm ground, access for the truck or trailer and the venue’s agreement. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

How long are you on site?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will suggest mild options.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

Mexican catering in Crosspost, from our truck or trailer

Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food. Popular choices include loaded nachos, quesadillas and fresh salsas and guacamole, and it suits company summer parties and garden parties.

In a small place like Crosspost, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Our caterer checklist

How we price Mexican catering

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • The menu you choose
  • Serving staff
  • Guest numbers

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What to tell us

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Expected numbers
  • How we drive in and where we can park

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. When you are ready, use our quote form.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so everything goes out hot.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar, with licensing checked with you.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Tacos

Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. We serve them with salsas and toppings, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

Salsas and guacamole

Salsas and guacamole, made fresh for your event.

Step by step

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you’re unsure. Daylight in Crosspost runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September. If your event carries on later, tell us what lighting the venue has.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we will park.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

How to get a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just tell us about it on our contact page.

Comparing your options

If you want food that feels relaxed without being basic, tacos, burritos and nachos make a strong choice. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.
