Catering an event in Lagness

Lagness is about 2 miles west of Bognor Regis, in West Sussex. From the centre of Lagness to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in 371 places in West Sussex. Our nearest city page is Brighton, about 26 miles away.

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Giles, the food generally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. Nearby historic houses include Goodwood House (4.9 miles north). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. Lagness is within about 3 miles of the sea, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots generally need permission from the council or landowner.

For Mexican catering in PO20, we plan around your venue and the route in. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Runcton (1 mile north-west), Merston (1 mile north), North Mundham (2 miles north-west), Colworth (2 miles north-east) and Hunston (2 miles west). Further out, we also cater in Worthing (14 miles east), Chichester (4 miles north-west), Selsey (5 miles south-west), Littlehampton (9 miles east), Emsworth (10 miles west) and Rustington (10 miles east).

A little further out are Tote Copse Castle (2.9 miles north-east) and Bognor Regis Museum (2.5 miles south-east).

  • Nearby schools include The Regis School (1.7 miles east)

About our Mexican catering in Lagness

We slow-cook the fillings ahead and finish them on site, and the salsas and guacamole are freshly made. Tortillas are warmed as we serve. It suits anniversaries and engagements and festivals, fairs and markets, serving burrito bowls, fresh salsas and guacamole and tacos.

Somewhere as small as Lagness, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. You can book food, drinks or both, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

The process

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. A December event in Lagness will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

What Mexican catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Guest numbers
  • How long we are needed on site
  • The menu you choose
  • Travel, parking and access

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The date and rough timings
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • What you’d like on the menu

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one

Rain doesn’t stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we’ll set out what we can do in your quote.

For planners, venues and organisers

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Lagness? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are simple and comforting.

Comparing your options

Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we’ll set out what’s included.

Why book with us

Why choose Mexican catering in Lagness?

It handles mixed diets without fuss, since everyone picks their own fillings and toppings. Vegans and vegetarians eat as well as anyone else.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Typical bookings include:

  • Anniversaries and engagements
  • School fairs and fundraisers
  • Family gatherings and christenings
  • Birthday parties

Before you pencil in Avisford, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement.
