How our Mexican catering works in Lower Assendon

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: our food truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. No kitchen is needed on site. We serve loaded nachos, burritos and a build-your-own taco bar, and it is a good fit for leaving parties and milestone birthdays.

In a hamlet or village like Lower Assendon, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a good venue. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer.

How it compares

Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, thanks to separate fillings and toppings. There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Why us?

  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • A clear quote

Take a look at our prices page and our guide to catering costs.

Space, access and the venue

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Lower Assendon: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Lower Assendon?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

When should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it’s around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will take it from there.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

Yes. There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. We give allergen information for every dish.

What’s on the menu?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Parking and the route in
  • The length of service
  • Staff for serving and the bar

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

  • Where the event is

Tacos

Tacos are the classic street food of Mexico. We serve them with salsas and toppings.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Working with your venue

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.
