How to compare caterers

Mexican catering in Lower Bourne, served fresh

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. No kitchen is needed on site. For anniversaries and engagements and charity and school events, we can serve tacos, burrito bowls and loaded nachos.

In a smaller place like Lower Bourne, your own garden, drive or a local hall is often the simplest option: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Let us know about the route to the house. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

We cater in all 395 towns and villages across Surrey, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for Guildford, about 10 miles away.

A gathering in Underdown nature reserve would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early. A school such as Farnham College running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck. Venues in and around the Surrey Hills National Landscape, within about 7 miles of Lower Bourne, sometimes limit where vehicles can go. Ask yours about access for a truck or trailer before you book.

Lower Bourne: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Lower Bourne?

Guests can use Farnham station, about 1.1 miles north of Lower Bourne.

We are having a ceremony at St Martin by the Green: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

Can you cater for special diets?

Yes. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

Do you cater in Lower Bourne?

Yes, we do. We serve at events in Lower Bourne and across Surrey. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

About the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

The taco bar keeps things sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them, with every dish labelled.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. Bowls suit guests who want to skip the tortilla.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Step by step

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. Around midsummer it stays light in Lower Bourne until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, tacos make vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests easier to cater for, thanks to separate fillings and toppings. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.
