Book Mexican catering in Tilford

Mexican catering in Tilford, served fresh

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case, so let us know how many you expect. At school fairs and fundraisers and markets and community events, we can serve fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and a build-your-own taco bar and more.

For a rural spot like Tilford, fields and drives need a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the distance from the road all matter. We confirm power and water arrangements with you before the day. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so set-up goes smoothly.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar, with licensing checked with you.

Where the truck can go in Tilford

Everything is served from our food truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.

Tilford questions

Is Tilford close to London?

It’s about 35 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you cater in villages like Tilford?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you plan for allergies?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we can’t promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Do you do a drinks bar?

You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol needs the right licence, so we’ll check that with you.

Do you do parties at home?

That depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a photo and we’ll talk it through.

Can you set up at our venue?

Level, firm ground, access for the truck or trailer and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water when you book.

Do you need electricity?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we’ll confirm what we need with your quote.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

Catering an event in Tilford

Tilford is about 3 miles south-east of Farnham, in Surrey. Give us the address of your event in Tilford, and we’ll plan the journey and set-up. We cover all 395 towns and villages in Surrey, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Tilford to Guildford (about 9 miles away).

For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Farnham station, about 2.5 miles north-west. A school such as Waverley Abbey CofE Junior School running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck. Step by step

Here’s how the day generally runs: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh until service ends. A December event in Tilford will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. We serve hot food from our truck or trailer at the agreed time.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Tell us what power and water the site has

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

Loaded nachos

Loaded nachos are perfect for sharing, whether as a starter or a late bite. Dairy-free versions can be planned.

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them, with every dish labelled.

How we price Mexican catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • The number of people
  • Serving staff
  • The length of service
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Expected numbers

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we will suggest a menu. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
