How our Mexican catering works in Northbridge Street

You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: a taco menu, or tacos plus loaded nachos, quesadillas and burrito bowls. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too. For summer garden parties and family gatherings and christenings, we will put together a menu of burritos, quesadillas and a build-your-own taco bar.

In a hamlet or village like Northbridge Street, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a good venue. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Northbridge Street: your questions answered

Will you travel to a small place like Northbridge Street?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

We are having a ceremony at The Parish Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

What do you need at the venue?

We need level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water when you book.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you so everything fits your schedule.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll check the licensing with you.

Who clears up?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Organising for someone else?

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Make sure the menu has a vegan option
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.
