Mexican catering in Patching

Mexican catering in Patching, served fresh

Serving from a truck or trailer keeps the mood easy-going. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food, which suits informal events. We serve burrito bowls, a build-your-own taco bar and tacos, and it is a good fit for summer garden parties and christenings and family parties.

Somewhere like Patching, a field or garden is often the setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

With a barbecue, someone usually ends up stuck at the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our truck or trailer, so you can enjoy your event. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Why us?

  • Menus chosen with you
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • We cover Patching and the whole of West Sussex

See our prices page and the cost guide.

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so it is hot when it reaches them.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar, with licensing checked with you.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

What happens on the day

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. A December event in Patching will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
  4. We serve hot food from our food truck or trailer at the agreed time.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

Getting a price

Guests leaving a church like The Parish Church of St John the Divine after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready. Patching questions

Do you come to events in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

We are having a ceremony at The Parish Church of St John the Divine: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, on request. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will plan the menu around them.

What does Mexican catering cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Contact us for a quote.

Are plates and napkins included?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

Can we add a bar?

Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with bar staff serving margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Alcohol needs the right licence, so we’ll check that with you.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, West Sussex included. See all areas.
