How our Mexican catering works in Sheepdrove

Truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so tell us your numbers. It suits family gatherings and christenings and weddings and evening receptions, with burritos, tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Somewhere as small as Sheepdrove, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Let us know about any other food at the event

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests build their own.

A tray of loaded nachos works well to start.

How the day works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, let us know and we’ll adjust where we can. Around midsummer it stays light in Sheepdrove until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

Your questions about Mexican catering in Sheepdrove

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Michael and All Angels?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you give allergen information?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we’ll check the licensing with you and your venue.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will suggest mild options.

Are plates and napkins included?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we’ll talk it through.

How much will it cost?

We quote for each event, depending on numbers, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Mexican catering or something else?

With a barbecue, someone usually ends up stuck at the grill. With us, the cooking happens in our food truck or trailer. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What we offer in Sheepdrove

  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Book food, drinks or both

Read how we price and our guide to catering costs.

Can I do a taco night myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Who books Mexican catering in Sheepdrove?

You do not need a kitchen, so it works in gardens, fields and grounds without catering facilities.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Office lunches and team days
  • Fairs and festivals
  • Wedding breakfasts and evening food
  • Milestone birthdays

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Michael and All Angels, a truck or trailer parked at a hall or garden close by can serve the meal.
