Mexican catering for your event in Sparsholt

Taco catering in Sparsholt is what we do best. Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. Guests come up to the hatch, chat while they wait and take something hot back to their seats. It suits retirement and leaving parties and fundraisers and school events, serving tacos, fresh salsas and guacamole and quesadillas.

In a rural place like Sparsholt, access is the main thing to plan: the gate, the ground and the route from the lane. We confirm power and water arrangements with you before the day. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

Common questions in Sparsholt

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of the Holy Rood?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we can’t promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Do you cater for big events?

Our service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

Do you come to Sparsholt?

We do. Sparsholt is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

When do you arrive?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Planners, venues and businesses

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Where the truck can go in Sparsholt

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Catering for every guest

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so it is hot when it reaches them.

Loaded nachos make a good sharing starter or as a late snack.

How we price Mexican catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Serving staff
  • What the venue already provides
  • The number of people
  • How long we’re needed on site

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What power and water the site has
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, use our quote form.

Step by step

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Around midsummer it stays light in Sparsholt until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
