Mexican catering for Sturry events

Mexican catering in Sturry, from our food truck or trailer

Mexican street food makes mixed diets simple. There are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, and allergen information is available for every dish. On the menu are fresh salsas and guacamole, burritos and tacos, and it suits family gatherings and christenings and milestone birthdays.

In and around Sturry, gardens and local halls are common choices. If the road in is narrow or the ground is soft, tell us so we can plan for the truck or trailer. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Mexican catering around Sturry

Sturry is about 3 miles north-east of Canterbury, in Kent. Whether your event is in the middle of Sturry or on the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Sturry is one of 922 places in Kent where we can bring Mexican catering.

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like St Nicholas' Church, a truck or trailer parked at a hall or garden close by can serve the meal. Thinking of an event in Chequer's Wood and Old Park? Public parks generally need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first. The coast is within about 5 miles of Sturry, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots normally need permission from the council or landowner.

Anywhere in CT2, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Local streets include High Street, Park View and Link Road; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. For events just outside Sturry, we cover Broad Oak (1 mile west), Westbere (1 mile east), Calcott (1 mile north), Hersden (2 miles east) and Hicks Forstal (2 miles north). We also cater in nearby towns such as Canterbury (3 miles south-west), Margate (12 miles north-east), Dover (14 miles south-east), Folkestone (15 miles south), Ramsgate (13 miles east) and Broadstairs (14 miles east).

Other landmarks nearby include Canterbury Roman Museum (2.6 miles south-west) and St Martins Hospital (2.1 miles south). Not far away are West Blean and Thornden Woods.

  • Local schools include Spires Academy (1.1 miles east) and Frank Montgomery School (1.2 miles east)
  • Pubs nearby include The Swan Inn (less than half a mile south)

Mexican catering or something else?

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Hot food served from a truck feels like part of the event. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac

Rain does not stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Sturry: your questions answered

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Nicholas' Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you serve near the sea around Sturry?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades usually need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Do you have dairy-free options?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

What food do you serve?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan the menu with them in mind.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Who clears up?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll talk it through.

The process

A typical event goes like this: we arrive and set up, service opens at the agreed time, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. Around midsummer it stays light in Sturry until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Planning help

How we price Mexican catering

We’ll give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Guest numbers
  • Parking and the route in

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What we need to know

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Expected numbers
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

Should I do it myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • Space for guests to queue

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.
