Mexican catering for your event in Upton
We plan each menu with the client, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. It works well for leaving dos and retirement parties and milestone birthdays, with quesadillas, tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole.
Somewhere as small as Upton, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Planners, venues and businesses
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.
For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.
Diets, allergies and planning
With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:
- Add a dietary question to your RSVP
- Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
- Confirm allergies by email before the event
- Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
Rain does not stop us serving from the truck or trailer, though guests need somewhere under cover to eat.
A tray of loaded nachos works well to start or as a late snack.
About the menu
Burritos and burrito bowls
Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.
Build-your-own taco bar
Fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings laid out for guests to help themselves, with warm tortillas to fill. Everyone builds their own.
Upton questions
We are having a ceremony at Church of St. Michael and All Angels: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
Which station should guests use for Upton?
Guests can use Smallbrook Junction station, about 1.1 miles east of Upton.
Can you do dairy-free food?
Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will include them in the plan.
Is the food very hot?
That’s your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.
Can you cater for special diets?
Diets are planned in advance, with options kept separate, but we cannot promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we will keep their options separate.
Do you cover Upton?
Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Upton is within our area. For a quote, use our quote form.
How soon do we need to book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
Can I do a taco night myself?
Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Catering an event in Upton
Upton is about 1 mile south-west of Ryde, in the Isle of Wight. Whether your event is in the middle of Upton or on the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Upton is one of 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight we cover. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 17 miles away.
For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Smallbrook Junction station, about 1.1 miles east. If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St. Michael and All Angels, a truck or trailer parked at a hall or garden close by can serve the meal. With the sea within about 2 miles, a beach-side event might appeal. Promenades and beaches usually need permission, and the truck or trailer has to park on firm ground, not sand.
Here we cover the PO33 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. Streets in the area include Stroud Wood Road, Upton Road and Carters Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Other places close to Upton for Mexican catering include Haylands (1 mile north-east), Binstead (1 mile north), Ryde (1 mile north-east), Oakfield (1 mile north-east) and Elmfield (2 miles north-east). - Local schools include Ryde Academy (0.8 miles north) and Ryde School with Upper Chine (1.3 miles north-east)
What Mexican catering costs
These are the factors that matter most:
- How many guests we’re serving
- Travel, parking and access
- Timings and hours
- Your choice of food and drinks
Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.
Getting an accurate quote
You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:
- The address or venue name
- Expected numbers
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Gate widths, slopes and the ground

What we need at the venue
If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:
- Space for guests to queue
- A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
- A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
Out-of-the-way places like Upton take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

How the day works
It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. - First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
- We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
- Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
- On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
- When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.
Before we arrive
- Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
- Tell us what power and water the site has
- Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
