Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
  • Flag anyone with coeliac disease
  • Tell us how many children are coming

We arrive early enough to set up calmly. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

For planners, venues and organisers

Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Perfect for your event in Yarbridge

Yarbridge questions

Can you serve near the sea around Yarbridge?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades usually need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Do you cater in villages like Yarbridge?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

How much will it cost?

There’s no fixed price list, as each event is different. Send your details and you’ll get a quote for your event.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Do you have vegan options?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu.

How the day works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. In Yarbridge, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

How to prepare

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Mexican catering around Yarbridge

Yarbridge is about 2 miles north-east of Sandown, in the Isle of Wight. For Mexican catering in Yarbridge, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. Yarbridge is one of 125 places in the Isle of Wight where we can bring Mexican catering. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Yarbridge to Southampton (about 20 miles away).

When the service is at a church such as St. Mary's Church, the food normally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. Guests arriving by train will find that the nearest station is Brading station, about 0.5 miles north-east. The coast is within about a mile of Yarbridge, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots typically need permission from the council or landowner.

We cater events across PO36 and the streets around it. Local streets include New Road, Morton Road and Church Lane; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Yarbridge sits on or near the A3055, so getting the truck or trailer to your event is simple. For events just outside Yarbridge, we cover Morton (1 mile south-west), Brading (1 mile north), Adgestone (1 mile west), Yaverland (1 mile south-east) and Sandown (2 miles south-west). Space, access and the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Hardstanding or firm, level ground to park on
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • Space for guests to queue

Yarbridge is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we will plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Why choose Mexican catering in Yarbridge?

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.
