Guests travelling by rail: the nearest station is Lymington Pier station, about 4.9 miles north-west. Nearby historic houses include Swainston Manor (3.4 miles south-east) and Mottistone Manor (4.2 miles south). Grand houses and estates tend to have firm rules on alcohol and outside bars, so raise the drinks bar with them early. Drinks by the sea could work, as Cranmore is within about 5 miles of the coast. Licensing on the seafront needs checking, and we’ll do that with you.

We serve at events all over PO41. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on Solent Road, East Close and Cranmore Avenue or the roads around them. Close by, we cover events in Hamstead (1 mile north-east), Shalfleet (1 mile south-east), Bouldnor (1 mile west), Yarmouth (2 miles west) and Thorns Beach (4 miles north). Where the truck can go in Cranmore

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • The right licence for alcohol: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice
  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • Somewhere to park and unload nearby

For somewhere as remote as Cranmore, early notice helps us plan the trip, the route in and power.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

How it compares

Non-drinkers often get only soft drinks. Aguas frescas give them something special. Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch

How the day works

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. Winter receptions in Cranmore are dark by about 4:00pm in December, so an outdoor bar needs lighting from the start. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. Together we check how alcohol will be licensed at your event.
  3. We suggest a drinks list and send a quote.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.

Planning help

Cranmore: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Cranmore?

Guests can use Lymington Pier station, about 4.9 miles north-west of Cranmore.

Do you come out to small places like Cranmore?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

How many guests can you serve?

Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

What can we have at the bar?

Margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. We plan the list with you.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Will someone run the bar?

We bring bar staff.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Drinks planning tips

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Tell us when the bar should open and close
  • Include aguas frescas for non-drinkers
  • Pair the bar with hot food
  • Tell us how many guests are under 18

Allergen information is available for every drink, so guests can check before ordering.

Soft drinks for drivers.

Should I do it myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
