About our Mexican catering in Cranmore

Planning taco catering for an event in Cranmore? Our truck or trailer travels to events across Cranmore and nearby: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding, wherever we can get in safely. For leaving dos and retirement parties and fundraisers and school events, we’ll put together a menu of quesadillas, loaded nachos and tacos for your guests.

In a hamlet or village like Cranmore, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a good venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

How we price Mexican catering

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What’s on the menu
  • Timings and hours
  • Guest numbers

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

What we need to know

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • The date and time of the event
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

To get a price, just use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Questions from Cranmore

Do you come out to small places like Cranmore?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

What’s the nearest station to Cranmore for guests?

Lymington Pier station, about 4.9 miles north-west of the centre.

Who clears up?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we’ll talk it through.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you so everything fits your schedule.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, the Isle of Wight included. See all areas.

What do you need at the venue?

We need level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water when you book.

What if the weather’s bad?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

What’s on the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

A serving table of fillings, salsas and toppings, with tortillas kept warm. Everyone builds their own.

Quesadillas

Tortillas filled with melted cheese and a filling, toasted until crisp.

Taco catering in Cranmore: local tips

Cranmore is about 6 miles south-east of Lymington, in the Isle of Wight. Whether your event is in the middle of Cranmore or on the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in all 125 towns and villages across the Isle of Wight, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Cranmore to Southampton (about 14 miles away).

A school such as Shalfleet Church of England Primary School running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck. Around Cranmore, historic houses include Swainston Manor (3.4 miles south-east) and Mottistone Manor (4.2 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. Coastal events near Cranmore, which is within about 5 miles of the sea, bring wind and sand into the planning. Tell us exactly where you’d like us and we will check access.

We serve at events all over PO41 and the streets around it. Local streets include Solent Road, East Close and Cranmore Avenue; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Other places close to Cranmore for Mexican catering include Hamstead (1 mile north-east), Shalfleet (1 mile south-east), Bouldnor (1 mile west), Yarmouth (2 miles west) and Thorns Beach (4 miles north). Within a short drive, we also cover Newport (6 miles east), Ryde (12 miles east), Cowes (7 miles north-east), Sandown (13 miles east), Shanklin (13 miles south-east) and Ventnor (13 miles south-east). For an event at a remote venue, let us know early and we will plan the trip and the route in for the truck or trailer.

A little further out are Calbourne Water Mill And Rural Museum (2.6 miles south-east) and Yarmouth Castle (2.4 miles west). Not far away are Boldre Foreshore and Compton Down.

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

Out-of-the-way places like Cranmore take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

How it works

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Daylight in Cranmore runs to about 8:55pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September. Let us know if service will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Count children separately
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so it’s hot when it reaches them.
