Sundridge questions

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Elmstead Wood?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Andrew?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Who handles the licensing?

That depends on your venue. Some venues have a premises licence; others need a Temporary Event Notice. We talk it through with you.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

How is the food prepared?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Comparing your options

Non-drinkers often get only soft drinks. Our aguas frescas are made for them. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Soft drinks

A choice of soft drinks for drivers and children.

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. A summer drinks reception in Sundridge has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so evening drinks can be served in daylight. In late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm, so evening bars need lighting.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. You get a suggested drinks list.
  3. We confirm power, water and the bar spot.
  4. We set up and serve on cue.
  5. When the bar shuts, we clear away.

How to prepare

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

How we price Mexican bar hire

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • The number of people
  • Travel, parking and access
  • The menu you choose
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Expected numbers

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. To send your details, send us your details through our quote form.

Organising for someone else?

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Organising a club, school or community event in Sundridge? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Give us the details and we will suggest a plan.

Where the truck can go in Sundridge

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Vehicle access near the bar
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Space for guests to queue at the bar

In Sundridge, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
