Questions from Well End

What’s the nearest station to Well End for guests?

Guests can use Bourne End station, about 0.6 miles south-east of Well End.

We’re having a ceremony at St Mark: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you check ages at the bar?

Yes. No alcohol is served to under-18s, and we may refuse service to anyone who has had too much.

Do you have alcohol-free drinks?

Always. Aguas frescas and soft drinks are alcohol-free.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t generally stop service from the truck or trailer. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How big an event can you cater?

Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.

Do you take everything away?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How the day works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. In December, the light goes in Well End at about 3:55pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:25pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. Together we check how alcohol will be licensed at your event.
  3. We suggest a drinks list and send a quote.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

For planners, venues and organisers

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Well End? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Planning drinks for every guest

Some planning tips for the drinks:

  • Collect allergy details in advance
