About our Mexican party catering in Canary Wharf

Taco bars are made for parties: guests fill their own tortillas from fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings, so everybody gets what they like. It suits graduation celebrations and garden parties, with burritos, loaded nachos and guacamole and salsas.

Most parties in Canary Wharf are in back gardens, which in London are often reached only through the house. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot out front may work, with permission. Parking needs planning, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. Everything is prepared fresh for your party and served from our food truck or trailer.

Canary Wharf questions

What about parking in Canary Wharf?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Sir John McDougall Gardens?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain does not normally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we’ll park.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Planning the serving area

We’ll agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • A quick photo of the access helps us plan
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours

London streets around Canary Wharf can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

How the day works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain does not normally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. At midsummer, it is light in Canary Wharf until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. It starts with your date, the address, numbers and diets.
  2. We put a menu together and quote for it.
  3. We check the space and access for the truck or trailer.
  4. On the day, we arrive, set up and start serving at the agreed time.
  5. We pack down after service so the party can carry on.

Before we arrive

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Tell us when you want service to start

Planning help

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Put severe allergies to us in writing
  • Give the neighbours a heads-up
  • Ensure there’s a vegan option
  • Plan a covered spot for wet weather

At food time, we open the hatch, while you enjoy your guests.

Tell us if you need plates or serving staff, and we will confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Planners, venues and businesses

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

  • The length of service
  • What’s on the menu
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

  • The date and rough timings

To get a price, just use our quote form. Give us the details of your party, and we will put together a menu and price.

Mexican party catering or something else?

A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Separate fillings cover every diet. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • A clear quote
  • Catering across Greater London, including Canary Wharf
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
