Mexican street food in New Town, served fresh

Festivals can be bigger than our usual 50 to 400 guests, so share expected numbers and trading hours and we’ll plan around them. On the menu are burrito bowls, tacos and burritos, which works well for community events and open days and village fairs.

Near New Town, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a hot-food truck is a big help. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

How we price Mexican street food

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • How many guests we’re serving
  • The length of service
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • The venue or postcode
  • Your menu ideas

The quickest way to a quote is to send a quick message through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Comparing your options

Some street food is slow to serve one order at a time. Our fillings are ready to go, so orders are quick. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

FAQs for New Town

Which station should guests use for New Town?

Guests can use Pangbourne station, about 1.6 miles east of New Town.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll recommend how to serve.

When do you arrive?

It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

How spicy is the food?

It is up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, on request. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll plan the menu around them.

Do you need water?

We will confirm our needs once we know the pitch details.

Do you come to New Town?

Yes, we do. New Town is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

How the day works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. A December market in New Town loses the light at about 3:55pm, so site lighting matters for traders and visitors alike. By contrast, a midsummer fair stays light until about 9:25pm.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our menu and pitch requirements.
  3. We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
  4. We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

How to prepare

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

Getting a price

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will come back with a clear quote.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.
