Mexican catering across OX5

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case, so tell us your numbers. It suits family celebrations and charity and school events, with tacos, a build-your-own taco bar and loaded nachos.

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our food truck or trailer, and serve without fuss.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

What it costs in OX5

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

What we need at the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

What’s on the menu

Burritos and burrito bowls

A burrito is a meal in one. Bowls suit guests who want to skip the tortilla.

Quesadillas

Toasted tortillas with melted cheese inside, cut into wedges.

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Count children separately

Once everyone has eaten, we tidy up and pack away quietly.

Extra salsas and toppings can widen the choice.

Comparing your options

Cold buffets are easy, but the food sits out. Our food is served hot, one order at a time.

Comparing caterers

  • How long the service runs
  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • When payment is due
  • What the caterer needs from your venue

OX5 questions

How long are you on site?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

How does your Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we will check the licensing with you and your venue.

Can you cater in a back garden?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a picture and we’ll talk it through.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

What food and drinks do you offer?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
