How Mexican catering works in RG26
With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. No kitchen is needed on site. We serve fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos and loaded nachos, and it suits engagement and anniversary parties and company summer parties.
Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain doesn’t typically stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit.
- First, send us a few details about your event.
- We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
- We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
- On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
- We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.
What it costs in RG26
The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

Catering events across RG26
From Tadley, Rooksdown and Bramley to 20 villages and hamlets, events across RG26 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access and ground.
Tadley: For a fête or sports day at a school such as Bishopswood Junior School, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. Around Tadley, historic houses include The Vyne (4 miles south-east). Estates and historic houses tend to set their own rules for caterers, so find out what yours allows first. Planning an evening event in Tadley? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:25pm at midsummer and 7:10pm in late September. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.
Planning the serving area
The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:
- A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
- Some distance from houses and neighbours
- A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
Can I do a taco night myself?
Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.
Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.
What affects the price in RG26
The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:
- The menu you choose
- Distance and access to the venue
- Staff for serving and the bar
- Whether you add a drinks bar or food
Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.
Getting an accurate quote
You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:
- Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
- The date and rough timings
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll suggest a menu. When you are ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.
Planners, venues and businesses
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.
Is Mexican catering right for you?
Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, because fillings and toppings are kept separate.
What your quote should include
- When payment is due
- VAT, if it applies
- A food hygiene rating you can check
- What the caterer needs from your venue
Questions from RG26
Do you have options for kids?
Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.
Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?
Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Tell us about your space and numbers and we will recommend how to serve.
Do you serve in the rain?
Rain does not stop service from the hatch. Have somewhere covered ready for guests.
How much is a food truck for an event?
We quote for each event, based on what you actually need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a quote.
How does your Mexican catering work?
We bring our food truck or trailer to your venue, cook to order and serve tacos, burritos and more from the hatch. A build-your-own taco bar is another option.
What happens if it rains?
The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.
What space do you need?
Level, firm ground, access for the truck or trailer and the venue’s agreement. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.
- Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
- Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
- Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
