Around Thamesmead

We can bring the truck to events near Jubilee Primary School, Harris Garrard Academy and St Paul and the streets around them. The closest station to Thamesmead is Abbey Wood station, about 1 mile south. Well-known places in the area include Erith and District Hospital (2.6 miles south-east) and River (1.9 miles north-east). The countryside around Thamesmead includes Crossness Nature Reserve.

Catering events across SE28

Across SE28, we cater in 3 towns and 3 villages and hamlets, so the setting can be anything from Plumstead, Thamesmead and Crossness to a quiet hamlet: a level, firm spot, a way in and agreed timings.

Thamesmead: When the service is at a church such as St Paul, the food usually happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. Thinking of an event in Abbey Wood Park? Public parks normally need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first. A December event in Thamesmead will be in the dark from about 3:50pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

Planning the serving area

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you. The main points are:

  • A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Working with your venue

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

What’s on the menu

Loaded nachos

Tortilla chips piled with cheese, a filling, salsa, guacamole and toppings.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. Bowls suit guests who want to skip the tortilla.

Comparing your options

With a barbecue, someone normally ends up stuck at the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our food truck or trailer, so you can enjoy your event.

What your quote should include

  • What the price includes, item by item
  • What happens if it rains
  • Whether travel is included
  • Whether plates, napkins and cutlery are included
