Food truck hire in Chalkshire, served fresh

Pair the truck with our Mexican drinks bar for margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you. We can add a taco-bar station next to the truck. For parties in venue grounds and weddings, we can serve quesadillas, tacos from the hatch and burritos and more.

For a rural spot like Chalkshire, food truck hire needs a little planning: the gate, the ground and the distance from the lane. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Who books food truck hire in Chalkshire?

Diets are simple to plan for, since vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free choices come from the same hatch.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Common bookings include:

  • Winter staff parties
  • Client events and product launches
  • Wedding receptions
  • Staff appreciation days

If guests are travelling by rail, the nearest station is Little Kimble station, about 1.3 miles south-west.

What your quote should include

  • Travel and parking costs
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • How many staff are serving, and for how long
  • The deadline for final numbers

Choosing a Mexican caterer

How it compares

If you want guests to remember the food, hiring a Mexican food truck is worth considering in Chalkshire. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What you get with us

  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Catering across Buckinghamshire, including Chalkshire

Take a look at our prices page and our guide to catering costs.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • Gate widths, overhead branches and soft ground checked in advance
  • Level, solid ground for the vehicle
  • A place for guests to eat close to the hatch

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

The process

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. At midsummer, it stays light in Chalkshire until about 9:25pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Share your plans for the event.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

How to get a price

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote.

Planning help

Dietary needs and planning tips

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to speak to us beforehand
  • Ask about parking rules if we will be on a road

The hatch opens at the time you choose.

Nachos for sharing at the start.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Parking and the route in
  • How long we are needed on site
  • What’s on the menu
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you can choose what you need.

What we need to know

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • What power and water the site has
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The date and time of the event
  • Where the event is

The quickest way to a quote is to tell us about it on our contact page. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Guests can use Little Kimble station, about 1.3 miles south-west of Chalkshire.

Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

Where can the truck park?
