Hiring a food truck in Egypt

Egypt is about 3 miles north of Slough, in Slough. For an event in Egypt, we can serve in gardens, fields, venues, car parks and courtyards with access. We serve in all 31 towns and villages across Slough, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for High Wycombe, about 7 miles away.

Close to Egypt are historic houses such as Cliveden (3 miles west) and Dorney Court (4.6 miles south-west). Historic houses and estates usually have firm rules on vehicles, so ask where a hired food truck could park before you book. Roughly 23 miles separate Egypt from central London, which can suit a team day out of the city with a hired food truck.

We cater events across SL2. We can cater an event on streets such as Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue or the roads around them. For events just outside Egypt, we cover Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). Larger places within reach include Slough (3 miles south), Cippenham (3 miles south), Chalvey (4 miles south), Langley (5 miles south-east), Upton (4 miles south) and Burnham (3 miles south-west).

Other landmarks nearby include Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). Not far away are Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.

  • Nearby schools include Caldicott School (0.8 miles south) and Beechwood School (1.9 miles south)
  • Pubs nearby include The Royal Oak pub (within half a mile south-east)

Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Agree service times with us
  • Tell us about coeliac guests
  • Confirm allergies with us in writing

At the end of service, we close the hatch and pack down, leaving our spot tidy.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck.

What happens on the day

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a photo of the space if you’re unsure. At midsummer, it stays light in Egypt until about 9:25pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

How to prepare

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Should I do it myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

  • Power and water, confirmed with each booking
  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle
  • Seating or standing room near the truck

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Common questions in Egypt

Could we book your food truck for a private event in Egypt?

Yes, depending on the date. For a private or work event in a village or hamlet, the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you cater in villages like Egypt?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will suggest mild options.

How much does food truck hire cost?

We don’t publish set prices, because each hire is different. Tell us your plans and we will quote for your event. Our food truck hire guide explains what affects the cost.

How much is a food truck for an event?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes. We offer dairy-free options.

Planners, venues and businesses

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

How we price food truck hire

Contact us for a quote, and the price is based on:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • What the venue already provides
  • Travel, parking and access

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Where the event is

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.
