Food truck hire in Flete, served fresh

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. It is a private booking, not public trading, so we plan the menu and service times around you. At weddings and leaving parties, we can serve tacos from the hatch, burritos and burrito bowls.

Near Flete, a hired food truck in a field or garden suits private parties and work away days alike. Guests queue at the hatch, so have some cover ready in case of rain. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Before you choose a spot

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • Parking arrangements if we’re not on private land
  • Agreement from the venue to bring in a catering vehicle
  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

The process

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. At midsummer, it stays light in Flete until about 9:15pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:00pm. For winter events, dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. We pack down and drive away when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

Common questions in Flete

Is Flete close to London?

It’s about 64 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you cater in villages like Flete?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

Do you cover Flete?

We do. Flete is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

Can we add drinks?

The drinks bar comes with bar staff and alcohol-free choices. We’ll talk through licensing first.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

Do you need electricity?

Tell us what the site has, for example a supply from the venue, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Parking and the route in
  • What the venue already provides
  • The length of service
  • How many staff you need

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • What power and water the site has
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before you book
  • Ask about parking rules if we will be on a road
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain

The hatch opens at the time you choose.

Quesadillas make an easy option for children, if you’d like a kids’ choice.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.
