Why choose food truck hire in Halling?

A marquee kitchen with plated service needs more space, more staff and more time. Our food truck or trailer brings the kitchen and serves from one hatch. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Halling

  • Events in Halling and across Medway
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch

See our prices page or what Mexican catering costs.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • The length of service
  • Travel, parking and access

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • What power and water the site has
  • The date and rough timings
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Where the event is

The quickest way to a quote is to tell us about it on our contact page. Give us the details of your event, and we will put together a menu and price.

Halling: parking, access and venues

Halling is about 3 miles south-west of Rochester, in Medway. Events in Halling are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. Halling is one of 68 towns and villages in Medway we cover. Our nearest city page is Maidstone, about 7 miles away.

For guests coming by train, Halling station is in Halling itself. Central London is about 25 miles from Halling, close enough for a London team’s away day.

This part of Medway takes in ME2, so your event can be anywhere in it. Streets in the area include High Street, Kent Road and Essex Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. If your venue is just outside Halling, we also cover Wouldham (1 mile east), Upper Halling (1 mile south-west), North Halling (1 mile north), Holborough (1 mile south) and Peters Village (1 mile south-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Gillingham (6 miles east), Chatham (4 miles east), Rochester (3 miles north-east), Rainham (7 miles east), Strood (3 miles north-east) and Luton (4 miles east).

A little further out are St. Catherine's Hospital (3.4 miles north-east) and Rochester Castle (3.5 miles north-east). Green spaces nearby include Blue Bell Hill and Ranscombe Farm.

  • Nearby schools include The Holmesdale School (2.1 miles south)
  • Local pubs include The Homeward Bound pub (less than half a mile south)

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included. To get it right:

  • Look into parking permissions if the truck cannot go off-road
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Plan a covered area for guests to eat

Running late? Tell us.

Simple quesadillas suit younger guests, if you’d like a kids’ choice.

The process

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. At midsummer, it stays light in Halling until about 9:20pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:00pm. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

How to prepare

  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, send us your details through our quote form.

Questions to ask before you book

Questions from Halling

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Is it possible to have you in Holborough Marshes?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will include them in the plan.

Can you cater for special diets?

Diets are planned with you in advance, but we cannot promise an allergen-free kitchen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us first.

What does it cost to hire the truck?

We don’t publish set prices, because each hire is different. Tell us your plans and we will quote for your event. See the Mexican catering cost guide for background.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

What space does the truck need?

A firm, level spot, a way in that fits the vehicle, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we’ll talk it through.

For event organisers in Halling

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle
  • Power and water details confirmed in advance
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.
