Food truck hire in Netherfield: local tips

Netherfield is about 7 miles north of Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. From the centre of Netherfield to the outskirts, food truck hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Netherfield is one of 289 towns and villages in East Sussex where we can bring food truck hire. We cater right across the region, from Netherfield to Royal Tunbridge Wells (15 miles away).

After a service at a church such as Church of St John, a hired food truck at a garden, field or venue nearby can feed everyone. Close to Netherfield are historic houses such as Durhamford Manor (3.3 miles east) and Bateman's (4.4 miles north-west). Historic houses and estates usually have firm rules on vehicles, so ask where a hired food truck could park before booking. Netherfield is within about 5 miles of the High Weald National Landscape, with country venues and gardens where a hired food truck could serve. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules on vehicles, so check with yours.

We serve at events all over the TN33 postcode area. Streets in the area include Netherfield Way, Netherfield Road and Eatenden Lane, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Other places close to Netherfield for food truck hire include Mountfield (2 miles north-east), Penhurst (2 miles south-west), Twelve Oaks (2 miles north-west), Steven's Crouch (2 miles south) and Hollingrove (2 miles north-west). Further out, we also cater in Eastbourne (13 miles south-west), Hastings (7 miles south-east), Bexhill-on-Sea (7 miles south), Hailsham (10 miles south-west), Crowborough (14 miles north-west) and St Leonards (8 miles south-east).

A little further out are Battle Museum of Local History (2.3 miles south-east) and Old Castle (4.1 miles west). The countryside around Netherfield includes Senlac Hill.

  • Local schools include Claverham Community College (2 miles south-east)

What affects the price in Netherfield

These are the factors that matter most:

  • The number of people
  • The length of service
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Distance and access to the venue

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What we need to know

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Expected numbers
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Where the event is

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, send a quick message through our quote form.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • A clear area for a queue at the hatch
  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

What we offer

  • Quesadillas
  • Tacos
  • Burritos
  • Mexican drinks bar
  • Loaded nachos
  • Burrito bowls

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
  • Flag any coeliac guests
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Confirm allergies with us in writing

If your timings move, let us know and we’ll adjust service.

Ask about a second service later in the evening.

Netherfield: your questions answered

Do you hire out your food truck for parties in places like Netherfield?

Yes, as long as we’re available on the date and can get the truck or trailer in. Let us know about access and where we’d park.

Will you travel to a small place like Netherfield?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Are plates and napkins included?

That is confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

What about power on site?

Let us know what’s available on site, for instance a supply from the venue, and we’ll confirm what we need with your quote.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

At a private hire, we serve your guests and nobody else, with a menu and timings you agree with us. Festival and market trading is open to the public.

What do you need at the venue?

A firm, level spot, a way in that fits the vehicle, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water when you book.

The menu, item by item

Salsas and guacamole

Salsas and guacamole finish every order, from mild to hot.

Burritos

Rice, beans, a filling and salsa wrapped in a big tortilla.

What happens on the day

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain does not normally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. December events in Netherfield lose the light at about 3:55pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we will park. In late June, it stays light until about 9:15pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.

How to prepare

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Find out what power and water are available
