Food truck hire in North Street, from our food truck or trailer

A hired food truck works for weddings, birthdays and staff days, and any gathering where guests want hot food without a sit-down meal. For parties in venue grounds and back-garden parties, we can serve quesadillas, fresh salsas and guacamole and vegan tacos.

In a hamlet or village like North Street, our truck or trailer can serve a private party or a team day in a field or garden. Guests queue at the hatch, so have some cover ready in case of rain. We’ll check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

What happens on the day

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Evening events in North Street stay light until about 9:20pm at midsummer. Once it is dark, some lighting near the hatch makes ordering easier.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. We suggest fillings and dishes for every diet.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. The truck serves at the agreed times.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Find out what power and water are available

Where the truck can go in North Street

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • A spot away from neighbours
  • Enough width and height on the route in
  • A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

For planners, venues and organisers

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

What’s on the menu

Salsas and guacamole

Salsas and guacamole finish every order.

Burrito bowls

A bowl is a good choice for guests avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt.

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Measure gates and look for low branches on the way in
  • Count children separately
  • Confirm the venue accepts outside caterers and vehicles
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain

Wet weather doesn’t close the hatch, though a marquee or gazebo helps guests stay dry.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck, with licensing checked with you.

Guests can use Gillingham (Kent) station, about 4.2 miles south-west of North Street.

Will you travel to a small place like North Street?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

How long are you on site?

Comparing your options

Plated catering needs a kitchen tent, waiting staff and set courses. Our truck or trailer brings the kitchen and serves from one hatch, needing level ground, access and the venue’s permission. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
