Food truck hire for your event in Oxford
Food truck hire suits weddings, milestone birthdays and staff events, and any gathering where guests want hot food without a sit-down meal. On the menu are burritos, fresh salsas and guacamole and quesadillas, and it’s a good fit for garden parties and big birthdays.
In central Oxford, access and parking are the things to plan for a hired food truck; on site we need level ground and space for guests to queue. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

What we need at the venue
If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you. What matters most:
- Arrangements for power and water, agreed when you book
- The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a food truck
- A spot away from neighbours
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.
DIY taco night or a caterer?
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
Diets, allergies and planning
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:
- Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
- Let us know who is coeliac
- Ask the venue about catering vehicles before you book
- Have shelter ready in case of rain
The hatch opens at the time you choose.
Quesadillas make an easy option for children, if you’d like a kids’ choice.
How it works
When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. A hired food truck at a summer event in Oxford can serve in daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, and by late September sunset is about 7:10pm. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.
- First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
- You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
- We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
- We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
- After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.
Before we arrive
- Give us your final numbers and diets
- Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Oxford: your questions answered
Which station should guests use for Oxford?
Oxford station, about 1.6 miles west of the centre.
Is it possible to have you in South Park?
Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.
Do you provide drinks?
Yes. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we’ll check the licensing with you and your venue.
Can you cater in a back garden?
Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a picture of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.
How does food truck hire work?
You book the truck or trailer for set hours at your event. We cook, serve and clear away.
What do you need at the venue?
Level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water when you book.
Are plates and napkins included?
We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we’ll talk it through.
Do you cook on site?
Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Comparing your options
Hiring a food truck is different from finding one at a festival. At public events, anyone can buy; a private hire means your guests, your menu and your timings. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.
