About our food truck hire in Smeeth

We bring the truck or trailer to private and work events in and around Smeeth: gardens, venue grounds, car parks and business parks. It suits staff summer parties and client events and product launches, with tacos from the hatch, quesadillas and fresh salsas and guacamole.

In a rural place like Smeeth, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: the gate, the ground and the distance from the lane. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

What happens on the day

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain doesn’t normally stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. At midsummer, it stays light in Smeeth until about 9:15pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:00pm. For winter events, dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.

  1. Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Preparing for the day

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Tell us what power and water the site has

Why choose food truck hire in Smeeth?

It feels informal but well looked after, because we cook, serve and clear away.

We cater all kinds of occasions in Smeeth and nearby. Popular bookings include:

How to compare caterers

Smeeth questions

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Could we book your food truck for a private event in Smeeth?

Yes, depending on the date. For a private or work event in a village or hamlet, the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can we hire the truck for our wedding?

The truck or trailer can serve the wedding breakfast, evening food or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue. See our food truck wedding guide.

What access do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Can you keep it mild?

It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

How we price food truck hire

These are the factors that matter most:

  • The length of service
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • How many staff you need
  • Parking and the route in

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Where the event is

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, fill in our quote form.
