Mexican catering in Ashey

Mexican catering for your event in Ashey

We bring our truck or trailer to events in and around Ashey: private gardens, venue grounds, courtyards and fields, as long as there is safe access. At milestone birthdays and engagement and anniversary parties, we can serve fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos and burritos.

In a small place like Ashey, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Ashey: your questions answered

Could you come to a seaside event near Ashey?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades generally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Which station is closest to Ashey?

Smallbrook Junction station, about 1.5 miles north-east of the centre.

Do you cater for big events?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it is around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will plan around them.

Can we add a bar?

Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. We’ll go through the licensing with you before the day.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

We park our truck or trailer at your venue and serve hot Mexican street food from it. A build-your-own taco bar is another option.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we cannot promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Do you have gluten-free options?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

How we price Mexican catering

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Travel, parking and access
  • What’s on the menu
  • The length of service

What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and time of the event
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • What you’d like on the menu

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just fill in our quote form.

Mexican catering or something else?

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Why us?

  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • A clear quote
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Allergen information for everything we serve

Where the truck can go in Ashey

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

Out-of-the-way places like Ashey take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Step by step

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Around midsummer it stays light in Ashey until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Planning help

Planning for every diet

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP

We work around your timings, and adapt if they move.

Add our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

Why choose Mexican catering in Ashey?

The truck or trailer becomes a focal point, and people drift over as soon as service starts.

Whatever the occasion, the serving truck can be a highlight. We are happy to cater:

  • Engagement celebrations
  • Festivals, fairs and markets
  • Garden parties
  • Fundraisers and school events

A school such as Ryde Academy running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck.

What to look for in a quote

  • Any travel, parking or access charges
  • Allergen information for each dish
  • If the price includes VAT
  • How bad weather is handled

Planning a food truck in Ashey

Ashey is about 2 miles south-west of Ryde, in the Isle of Wight. Whether your event is in the middle of Ashey or on the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Ashey is one of 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight where we can bring Mexican catering. Our nearest city page is Southampton, about 18 miles away.

Close to Ashey are historic houses such as Nunwell House (1.5 miles south-east) and Morton Manor (2.3 miles south-east). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. If people are travelling in by rail, the nearest station is Smallbrook Junction station, about 1.5 miles north-east. With the sea within about 3 miles, a beach-side event might appeal. Promenades and beaches usually need permission, and the truck or trailer has to park on firm ground, not sand.

Here we cover the PO33 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. We also serve at events in Adgestone (2 miles south-east), Brading (2 miles south-east), Morton (2 miles south-east), Alverstone Garden Village (2 miles south) and Yarbridge (2 miles south-east). Further out, we also cater in Newport (5 miles west), Cowes (7 miles north-west), Sandown (3 miles south), Shanklin (5 miles south), Ventnor (7 miles south) and East Cowes (6 miles north-west). Remote venues take a little more planning, so ask early about your event.

Other landmarks nearby include Sandown Castle (3.3 miles south-east) and Cothey Bottom Heritage Centre (2 miles north-east). Not far away are Briddlesford Nature Reserve and Brading Down.
