How our Mexican catering works in Staple

We plan each menu with the client, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, alongside vegan choices such as black beans or spiced mushrooms. On the menu are fresh salsas and guacamole, burrito bowls and tacos, which works well for office lunches and team days and school fairs and fundraisers.

Somewhere as small as Staple, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • What the venue already provides
  • The number of people
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Serving staff

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What to tell us

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The date and rough timings
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The address or venue name
  • How we drive in and where we can park

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Staple: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Staple?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St James?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What’s on the menu?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. Our sample menu has more detail.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

How many guests can you serve?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we will advise.

Who clears up?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

How much is a food truck for an event?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

Step by step

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. In Staple, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

How to prepare

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
