Mexican catering in Tattenham Corner

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Loaded nachos make a good sharing starter or as a late snack.

Mexican catering in Tattenham Corner, from our truck or trailer

Truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case, so let us know how many you expect. For leaving dos and retirement parties and festivals, fairs and markets, we will put together a menu of fresh salsas and guacamole, quesadillas and a build-your-own taco bar and more.

Somewhere as small as Tattenham Corner, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we’ll plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

The process

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain does not generally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. A December event in Tattenham Corner will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Tell us when you want service to start

DIY taco night versus a caterer

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

What we need at the venue

  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, tacos make vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests easier to cater for, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.
