About our Mexican catering in The Pound
Keep it simple or go further: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can come from our drinks bar, with licensing checked with you. It suits wedding breakfasts and evening food and fairs and festivals, with fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and tacos.
Somewhere as small as The Pound, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we’ll plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our food truck or trailer.

How we price Mexican catering
Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:
- The menu you choose
- Food, drinks or both
- How long we’re needed on site
- How many staff you need
Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.
Details that help
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:
- The date and time of the event
- A picture of where we’d park
- Gate widths, slopes and the ground
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
The quickest way to a quote is to send a quick message through our quote form. Tell us about your event in The Pound, and we will put together a menu and price.
DIY taco night or a caterer?
Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.
Dietary needs and planning tips
Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:
- Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
- Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
- Collect dietary needs when guests reply
- Count children separately
Allergen information is on hand for every dish, and guests are welcome to ask before ordering.
Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.
Questions from The Pound
Do you come to events in the High Weald National Landscape?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.
We are having a ceremony at Parish Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
How much does Mexican catering cost?
We don’t publish set prices, because every event is different. Send your details and you will get a quote for your event.
Do you do parties at home?
Yes, as long as there’s access and a level, firm spot. Send us a picture of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.
Do you clear up afterwards?
Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we’ll talk it through.
Can you cater for children?
Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan the menu with them in mind.
Do you need electricity?
It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.
Do you cater in The Pound?
Yes, we do. We serve at events in The Pound and across East Sussex. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.
The Pound: venues, access and local tips
The Pound is about 5 miles north-west of Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. We cater events at homes, gardens and venues in The Pound and the surrounding area. We serve in all 289 towns and villages across East Sussex. Our nearest city page is Brighton, about 23 miles away.
Guests leaving a church like Parish Church of St Peter after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready. Before you pencil in Ashburnham Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. With the High Weald National Landscape about 7 miles away at most, a rural setting is never far from The Pound. Country lanes there can be narrow and verges soft, so tell us about the route in.
Mexican catering in TN33 is planned around your venue and access and your guests. Streets in the area include Church Road and Linghams Lane, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Nearby, we also cater events in Ashburnham (1 mile north), Brownbread Street (1 mile north-west), Bodle Street Green (2 miles west), Wood's Corner (3 miles north) and Trolliloes (3 miles west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Eastbourne (9 miles south-west), Hastings (8 miles east), Bexhill-on-Sea (5 miles south-east), Seaford (15 miles south-west), Hailsham (7 miles south-west) and Crowborough (14 miles north-west).
A little further out are Bexhill Hospital (5.2 miles south-east) and Herstmonceux Castle (3.3 miles south-west). Not far away are Senlac Hill.
- Local pubs include The Ash Tree Inn (0.5 miles north-west)
For planners, venues and organisers
Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.
What happens on the day
We take care of everything you’ve booked, from set-up to service, so you can spend time with your guests. Around midsummer it stays light in The Pound until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.
- Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
- Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
- Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
- We serve hot food from our food truck or trailer at the agreed time.
- We pack away when service is over.
Preparing for the day
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
- Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
- Measure any gates or arches on the way in
Ask for a quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, drop us a line using the enquiry form.
