Mexican catering in Wroxall

Mexican catering in Wroxall, served fresh

You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too. It works well for christenings and family parties and big birthday celebrations, serving burrito bowls, quesadillas and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Somewhere as small as Wroxall, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we’ll plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. You can book food, drinks or both, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Questions from Wroxall

Can you cater a reception after a service at St John's Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Could you come to a seaside event near Wroxall?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Seafront and beach spots usually need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Wroxall.

How much is a food truck for an event?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Contact us for a quote.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. We offer dairy-free options, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Wroxall: venues, access and local tips

Wroxall is about 7 miles south-east of Newport, in the Isle of Wight. From the centre of Wroxall to the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. We cater in 125 places across the Isle of Wight, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 22 miles away.

Nearby historic houses include Rylstone Manor (2.2 miles east) and Haseley Manor (3.5 miles north). Estates and historic houses tend to set their own rules for caterers, so find out what yours allows first. When the service is at a church such as St John's Church, the food normally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. The coast is within about 2 miles of Wroxall, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots normally need permission from the council or landowner.

We serve at events all over the PO38 postcode area and the streets around it. Local streets include Station Road, High Street and St Martins Road; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Wroxall sits on or near the B3327, so getting the truck or trailer to your event is simple. Other places close to Wroxall for Mexican catering include Whiteley Bank (1 mile north), Sandford (1 mile north-west), Nettlecombe (2 miles south-west), Princelett (2 miles north) and Godshill (2 miles north-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Newport (7 miles north-west), Ryde (8 miles north), Cowes (10 miles north), Sandown (4 miles north-east), East Cowes (10 miles north) and Oakfield (8 miles north). For an event at a remote venue, let us know early and we will plan the trip and the route in for the truck or trailer.

Other landmarks nearby include Sandown Castle (4.3 miles north-east) and South Wight (1.5 miles south-east). The countryside around Wroxall includes Stenbury Down and Alverstone Mead.

  • Local schools include The Island Free School (1.2 miles south)
  • Local pubs include The Worsley pub (within half a mile south-west)

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Mexican catering or something else?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

The process

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Evenings in Wroxall stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Preparing for the day

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Space, access and the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue

Out-of-the-way places like Wroxall take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.
