About our Mexican bar hire in Clatterford

Serving alcohol at events needs a licence: either the venue’s premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice. We check the licensing with you before the day. At launch parties and anniversaries and engagements, we can serve aguas frescas, margaritas and agua de jamaica for your guests.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

What happens on the day

We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. A summer drinks reception in Clatterford has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so evening drinks can be served in daylight. In late September it’s dark around 7:10pm, and in December by about 4:00pm, so evening bars need lighting.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and the drinks you have in mind.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that’s the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

How to prepare

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Planning help

Organising for someone else?

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Drinks planning tips

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Have plenty of water available
  • Share bar opening times
  • Plan alcohol-free drinks for drivers
  • Add food if the bar runs for a while

There are always alcohol-free options, including aguas frescas.

Add our Mexican catering for tacos, burritos and nachos.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • The right licence for alcohol: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice
  • Details of power and water on site
  • A clear area in front of the bar

For somewhere as remote as Clatterford, early notice helps us plan the trip, the route in and power.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Mexican beer

Clatterford questions

Do you cater at coastal events near Clatterford?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades normally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St. Nicholas in Castro?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Send us a photo of the access and the space, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

How much does the drinks bar cost?

We quote for each event, based on numbers, drinks and hours. For a price, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Clatterford.

What do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.
