Mexican catering in PO30

How Mexican catering works in PO30

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: our food truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. It suits birthday parties and weddings and evening receptions, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and burrito bowls.

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
  4. We serve hot food from our food truck or trailer at the agreed time.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

What you will pay

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Catering across the Isle of Wight, including PO30

Taco catering in PO30: local guide

From Newport, Barton and Hunny Hill to 30 villages and hamlets, events across PO30 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. In towns, plan parking and loading; in villages, tell us about lanes, gates and ground. Around 30 places in PO30 are close to the coast, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events.

Newport: For a fête or sports day at a school such as Nine Acres Primary School, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. Before you pencil in Seaclose Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. Evenings in Newport stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

Before you choose a spot

We will be honest if a space won’t work, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

Mexican catering or something else?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot.

What your quote should include

  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • What the caterer needs from your venue
  • What the price includes, item by item
  • When payment is due

Why street food works

It is colourful, generous food that fits informal events in PO30.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Garden parties
  • Fairs and festivals
  • Big birthday celebrations
  • Christenings and family parties

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain

Rain does not stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we’ll confirm what’s possible with your quote.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Common questions in PO30

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including PO30.

What are your prices?

There’s no fixed price list, as each event is different. Tell us your numbers and plans and we will send a quote for your event.

What if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop service from the hatch. Plan a marquee, gazebo or indoor space for guests to eat in.

How does mobile Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

What do you need at the venue?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
