Tips for a smooth bar

Some planning tips for the drinks:

  • Check how alcohol will be licensed at your venue
  • Share bar opening times
  • Serve food alongside the drinks
  • Tell us how many guests are under 18

We set up the bar before guests arrive, so drinks are ready when you are.

Pair the bar with tacos, burritos and nachos.

Mexican bar hire for your event in East Dulwich

Alcohol at an event needs the right licence: either the venue’s premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice. We check the licensing with you before the day. It suits product launches and client events and company summer parties, with margaritas, agua de jamaica and aguas frescas.

A Mexican drinks bar works well for receptions and parties in East Dulwich. As with any London event, parking and loading need planning, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. If alcohol is being served, we’ll check the licensing with you and your venue. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

What happens on the day

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. At midsummer, it is light in East Dulwich until about 9:20pm, ideal for drinks outdoors. In late September it’s dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm, so evening bars need lighting.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We go through the licensing with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We suggest a drinks list and send a quote.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. We pack away when the bar shuts and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Choosing a Mexican caterer

A Mexican drinks bar in East Dulwich: local tips

East Dulwich is about 3 miles south of London, in Greater London. Whether your event is in the middle of East Dulwich or on the outskirts, Mexican bar hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. We serve in all 764 towns and villages across Greater London.

Close to East Dulwich are historic houses such as Kingswood House (2.2 miles south) and Mansion House (3.5 miles north). Before booking a historic venue, find out whether it lets an outside bar bring a vehicle on site. If the service is at a church such as The Latter Rain Outpouring Revival Church, the bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

For Mexican bar hire in SE5, SE22 and SE15, we plan around your venue and the route in and your guests. Your event could be at a home on Rye Lane, Wren Road and Adys Road or the roads around them. You’ll find East Dulwich on the A2214 and A2215, so it is easy for us to reach with the truck or trailer. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Denmark Hill (1 mile north-west), Herne Hill (1 mile south-west), Dulwich Village (1 mile south), Camberwell (1 mile north) and Peckham (1 mile north-east). We also cater in nearby towns such as London (3 miles north), City of Westminster (5 miles north-west), Marylebone (5 miles north-west), Kensington (6 miles north-west), St Pancras (5 miles north) and Shoreditch (4 miles north).

A little further out are Dulwich Community Hospital (within half a mile south-east) and Nunhead (1.4 miles east). Green spaces nearby include Knight's Hill and Centre for Wildlife Gardening.

  • Schools near East Dulwich include The Charter School East Dulwich (within half a mile south-east) and The Charter School (under half a mile south-west)
  • Pubs nearby include The Fox on the Hill pub (under half a mile north-west)

East Dulwich questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at The Latter Rain Outpouring Revival Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Is it possible to have you in Brunswick Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

How much is a food truck for an event?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers and we will reply with a quote.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Can children have drinks from the bar?

Always. Aguas frescas such as agua de jamaica and horchata are alcohol-free, along with soft drinks.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • A premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice in place
  • Vehicle access near the bar
  • Details of power and water on site

In East Dulwich, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

Comparing your options

A self-service drinks table is simple but can run dry or go warm. Bar staff keep drinks flowing and cold. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Why book with us

  • Quoted for your event
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • A menu built around your guests

Take a look at our prices page and what Mexican catering costs.

Should I do it myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Guest numbers
  • The menu you choose
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Timings and hours

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Your menu ideas
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, tell us about it on our contact page.

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
