Mexican catering in SE5

About Mexican catering in SE5

Mexican street food makes mixed diets simple. We plan vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests, and allergen information is available for every dish. It works well for big birthday celebrations and family gatherings and christenings, serving quesadillas, a build-your-own taco bar and burrito bowls.

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. We serve hot food from our truck or trailer at the agreed time.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

East Dulwich: Parks such as Brunswick Park typically need the owner’s permission for vehicles and catering, so ask before you plan an event there. Guests leaving a church like The Latter Rain Outpouring Revival Church after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready. Planning an evening event in East Dulwich? Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations

On the day, we arrive in good time to park up and get ready. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we will set out what we can do in your quote.

Space, access and the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • Permission from the venue or landowner

Should I do it myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Why street food works

It handles mixed diets without fuss, because guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Vegans and vegetarians eat as well as anyone else.

Whatever you’re celebrating in SE5, our truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We are happy to cater:

  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Leaving dos and retirement parties
  • Charity and school events
  • Garden get-togethers

SE5 questions

Can you run a bar?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, including Greater London. See all areas.

How many guests can you serve?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Tell us your numbers.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
