We serve in 125 places in the Isle of Wight. We cater right across the region, from Gaskins to Southampton (about 19 miles away).

Once the ceremony at a church like St Catherine-by-the-Green is over, guests may be glad of a cold drink at the reception venue. Before booking a historic venue, find out whether it lets an outside bar bring a vehicle on site. The coast is within about 3 miles of Gaskins. Space, access and the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • Somewhere to park and unload nearby
  • Firm, level ground where we can set up
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking

Gaskins is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

What we offer

  • Horchata
  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Fruit aguas frescas
  • Margaritas
  • Soft drinks
  • Mexican beer

Your questions about Mexican bar hire in Gaskins

Could you come to a seaside event near Gaskins?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Seafront and beach spots normally need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Catherine-by-the-Green?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you check ages at the bar?

Always. Under-18s are not served alcohol, and anyone who has had too much will not be served more.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you cater in Gaskins?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Gaskins is within our area and the rest of the Isle of Wight. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

What if the weather’s bad?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

Planning the bar

Some planning tips for the drinks:

  • Give the council notice in good time for a Temporary Event Notice
  • Give us numbers for children
  • Add food if the bar runs for a while
  • Share taxi numbers with guests

Alcohol-free drinks are always available.

Margaritas for the drinks reception.

Step by step

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. Winter receptions in Gaskins are dark by about 4:00pm in December, so an outdoor bar needs lighting from the start. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and the drinks you have in mind.
  2. We go through the licensing with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We suggest a drinks list and send a quote.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
