Mexican bar hire in Hackney Wick

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

About our Mexican bar hire in Hackney Wick

The margarita is the star of the bar: lime, tequila and orange liqueur, served cold. It suits launch parties and staff parties, with alcohol-free drinks, soft drinks and horchata.

A Mexican drinks bar works well for receptions and parties in Hackney Wick. As with any London event, parking and loading need planning. If alcohol is being served, we’ll go through the licensing with you and your venue. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

What Mexican bar hire costs

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • What the venue already provides
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Serving staff

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What you’d like on the menu

Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Why choose Mexican bar hire in Hackney Wick?

A drinks bar with a theme gives guests something to talk about.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Launch parties
  • Staff parties
  • Winter celebrations
  • Mexican-themed parties

Older venues around Hackney Wick may restrict vehicles and outside drinks service, so confirm what’s allowed before booking.

Common questions in Hackney Wick

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Mabley Green?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Is parking a problem for events in Hackney Wick?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll talk it through.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Can we book the bar without food?

Yes. The bar can be booked on its own, or with our Mexican catering.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Tips for a smooth bar

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Make sure drivers have good choices
  • Allow time for a Temporary Event Notice if one is needed
  • Check how alcohol will be licensed at your venue
  • Add food if the bar runs for a while

There are always alcohol-free options.

Add our Mexican catering for tacos, burritos and nachos.

Is Mexican bar hire right for your event?

Some bars offer little for non-drinkers. Our aguas frescas are made for them. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

Why book with us

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • A quote that sets out what’s included

See our pricing or the cost guide.

How the day works

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. A late-September party in Hackney Wick loses the light at about 7:05pm, so a bar running later in the evening needs lamps or festoons. In late May, it stays light until about 8:50pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. Together we check how alcohol will be licensed at your event.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. We pack away when the bar shuts and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Planning help

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.
