What we need at the venue

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • Space for guests to queue
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours

In Barbican Estate, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Mexican party catering for your party in Barbican Estate

A truck or trailer can often park on a drive or in a garden, if there’s level, firm ground and a way in that’s wide enough. Not sure? Send us a picture. We serve tacos, quesadillas and loaded nachos, and it suits street parties and neighbourhood get-togethers and housewarming parties.

Most parties in Barbican Estate are in back gardens, which in London are often reached only through the house. We can look at parking on a drive or out front, with permission. All of Greater London is inside the ULEZ, and parking needs planning too. Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

What affects the price in Barbican Estate

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Food, drinks or both

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Details that help

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What power and water the site has
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Your menu ideas

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, send us your details through our quote form.

Comparing your options

Pizza vans are popular, but most parties have had one. A taco truck stands out. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Why book with us

  • Every guest catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Book food, drinks or both

How the day works

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. In Barbican Estate, it is light until about 9:20pm in June but dark by about 3:55pm in December, so the time of year shapes an evening party.

  1. You tell us the date, the address, guest numbers and any diets.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote for your party.
  3. We confirm access, parking, power and water.
  4. On the day, we arrive, set up and start serving at the agreed time.
  5. After serving, we tidy up and leave you to celebrate.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Barbican Estate questions

Which station is closest to Barbican Estate?

Guests can use Moorgate station, which is right in Barbican Estate.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Giles-without-Cripplegate?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain does not normally stop service from the truck or trailer. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
