Planning an event in Brighton?
DIY taco night or a caterer?
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.
About our Mexican street food in Brighton
A Mexican food truck pulls a crowd at any outdoor event. People follow the smell of warm tortillas, and orders come out fast from the hatch. For open days and community events and summer fairs and fêtes, we’ll put together a menu of loaded nachos, burrito bowls and burritos and more.
In Brighton, a taco truck adds colour and covers several diets. Tell us the pitch, access and power arrangements. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Brighton questions
Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.
Could you serve in William Clarke Park?
Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.
Can guests build their own tacos?
We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.
Do you provide plates and napkins?
That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.
How far ahead should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it is worth asking.
Can we book you as a trader?
Tell us about your event, and we will reply with our availability and what we need.
Do you have options for kids?
Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.
Can you bring margaritas?
It depends on the event’s licence. Let us know how alcohol is licensed at your event, and we will go from there.
