Mexican catering across BN1

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. We serve burrito bowls, tacos and loaded nachos, and it suits christenings and family parties and festivals, fairs and markets.

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area.

  1. First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

Cost

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

Local landmarks in Brighton

Your event could be close to Fairlight Primary School, St Martin's Church and Park Crescent pub and the streets around them. Nearby too are Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College (0.9 miles west), Academy of Creative Training (0.9 miles south) and William Clarke Park (within half a mile east). Brighton has its own railway station: London Road (Brighton) station, handy for guests travelling by train. Other landmarks nearby include Brighton General Hospital (0.7 miles east) and Old Police Cells Museum (1 mile south-west). Not far away are Newmarket Hill and Whitehawk Hill.

Planning a food truck in BN1

BN1 covers everything from Brighton, Hove and Carlton Hill to 3 small villages and hamlets, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access and ground. Around 19 places in BN1 are close to the coast, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events, and seafront spots need permission and firm ground for the truck or trailer.

Brighton: Historic houses near Brighton include Royal Pavilion (0.8 miles south-west) and Preston Manor & Gardens (1.1 miles north-west). Estates and historic houses tend to set their own rules for caterers, so find out what yours allows first. Reaching Brighton by road is easy for us, thanks to the A23 and A259. A December event in Brighton will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:15pm.

Before you choose a spot

We’ll be honest if a space won’t work. The main points are:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance

About the menu

Burritos and burrito bowls

A burrito is a meal in one. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and salsas, freshly made, with lime and fresh toppings.

How we price Mexican catering

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Parking and the route in
  • How many staff you need
  • Whether you need disposables

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • What power and water the site has
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we’re available that day.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

FAQs for BN1

What guest numbers do you cater for?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Bigger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Who clears up?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will talk it through.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

How much space do you need?

Access and level ground matter most: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Can you set up at our venue?

Send us details of the venue and the access, and we will confirm what we need. Space for a queue and, if you choose one, a taco-bar table helps too.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.
