Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Agree waste arrangements with traders
  • Make sure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
  • Share vehicle access times with traders
  • Plan seating near the food area

We keep our pitch tidy and safe throughout the day.

About our Mexican street food in Burcot

We agree a stall menu with you, perhaps chicken tinga, carnitas or birria, and a vegan filling like black beans. It works well for open-air performances and sports club events, with loaded nachos, tacos and quesadillas.

Near Burcot, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a hot-food truck is a big help. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer.

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Vehicle access before and after the event
  • Your arrangements for power, water and waste
  • Room for the truck or trailer and customers

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

What happens on the day

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. By late September, it is dark in Burcot at around 7:10pm, so an evening programme will run partly after dusk. Tell us how the site will be lit when you send the pitch details.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. We reply with our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
  4. On the day, we are ready before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

How to prepare

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Mexican street food or something else?

A single pizza or burger stall cannot cover every visitor. Tacos, burritos, bowls and nachos give choice. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Burcot events: pitches and permissions

Burcot is about 4 miles north-east of Didcot, in Oxfordshire. Across the OX14 area, we can bring the truck or trailer to you, as long as there is access. Burcot is one of 443 towns and villages in Oxfordshire we cover. You can also see our page for Oxford, about 7 miles away.

Events in parks such as Nuneham Courtenay need permission from the council or landowner, and we’ll send any documents they ask for from us. For a church fête or fundraiser, at a church such as Saint Mary and Saint Berin, a taco truck adds hot food to the cakes and tombola.

We serve at events all over OX14. From Linnet Close and Abingdon Road or anywhere nearby, we can bring Mexican street food there, given access. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Berinsfield (1 mile north-east), Dorchester (1 mile south-east), Little Wittenham (2 miles south), Drayton St Leonard (2 miles east) and Marsh Baldon (2 miles north). Within a short drive, we also cover Oxford (7 miles north), Didcot (4 miles south-west), Abingdon-on-Thames (4 miles west), Thame (11 miles north-east), Wantage (11 miles south-west) and Henley-on-Thames (15 miles south-east).

Nearby you will also find Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum (1.9 miles east) and Brightwell Castle (3.3 miles south). The countryside around Burcot includes Wittenham Clumps and Wells Farm.

  • Local pubs include The Chequers at Burcot pub (less than half a mile west)

How we price Mexican street food

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What to tell us

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A picture of where we’d park

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, use our quote form.

Burcot questions

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Nuneham Courtenay?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Is Burcot close to London?

Roughly 48 miles from the centre of London.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

Can we book you as a trader?

Tell us about your event, and we’ll confirm availability and requirements.

Can you handle a lunchtime rush?

With fillings ready to go, service is quick.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

How soon do we need to book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.
