How our Mexican street food works in Kingswood

A taco stall covers many diets at once: we serve vegan and vegetarian fillings and corn tortillas for gluten-free visitors. That makes your food line-up easier. It suits community days and festivals, with loaded nachos, burrito bowls and burritos.

Summer fairs around Kingswood are often run by volunteers, so it helps to agree the pitch, power and water early. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Before you choose a spot

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding
  • Trader information and site rules
  • Room for the truck or trailer and customers

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we offer

  • Tacos
  • Vegan options

How the day works

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can spend time with your guests. For an evening event in Kingswood, sunset is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June; after that, the trading area needs lighting from the organiser or the site.

  1. It starts with your event details and pitch information.
  2. We confirm our menu, our pitch needs and the paperwork your event asks for.
  3. We set up the truck or trailer on the pitch at the agreed time.
  4. We serve from the hatch through the trading times you set.
  5. We pack away and leave the pitch tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Send traders one clear trader pack
  • Ask for allergen information at each stall
  • Make sure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
  • Ask traders about packaging and waste

Crew meals are served at set times.

Margaritas and Mexican beer, subject to the event’s licence.

Street food for events around Kingswood

Kingswood is about 4 miles south-west of Coulsdon, in Surrey. Wherever your event is in the KT20 area, we can serve your guests, as long as there is access. We cater in all 395 towns and villages in Surrey. We cater right across the region, from Kingswood to Croydon (about 7 miles away).

PTA volunteers planning an event for a school like Tadworth Primary School might like a trader who brings everything and serves quickly. A market or festival in Eyhurst Park would be licensed by whoever manages the park, and we will provide our part of the paperwork. Organisers near the Surrey Hills National Landscape, within about 5 miles of Kingswood, may face extra conditions on traffic, ground protection and waste. We work to whatever the site sets.

This part of Surrey takes in KT20. Streets in the area include Beech Drive, Bears Den and Hamilton Place, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Kingswood: your questions answered

Which station is closest to Kingswood?

Kingswood has its own station: Kingswood station.

Is it possible to have you in Eyhurst Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you run a bar at festivals?

That depends on licensing. Tell us whether the event has a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not generally stop service from the truck or trailer. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Can you keep it mild?

That is your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we will talk it through.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote.
