What Mexican street food costs

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • How many guests we are serving
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The address or venue name
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • What power and water the site has
  • Expected numbers

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote.

FAQs for Mill Lane

Will you travel to a small place like Mill Lane?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you trade at a school fair in Mill Lane?

Yes, if the school is happy and there is access for the truck or trailer. Tell us the date and pitch details.

Are plates and napkins included?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Can you cater for crew and volunteers?

Yes. We can cook for crew, volunteers or a hospitality area as well as, or instead of, a public stall.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t normally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

What food and drinks do you offer?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

How to compare caterers

Running an event in Mill Lane

Mill Lane is about 2 miles south-west of Fleet, in Surrey. From the centre of Mill Lane to the outskirts, Mexican street food works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Mill Lane is one of 395 towns and villages in Surrey we cover. Our nearest city page is Basingstoke, about 10 miles away.

If you’re organising a summer fair or fundraiser for a school such as St Nicholas' School, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser. A fundraiser for a church like Old Church of All Saints might use a food truck to give visitors a reason to stay longer.

We serve at events all over the GU10 postcode area. Streets in the area include Bowenhurst Lane and Aquarius Close, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. If your venue is just outside Mill Lane, we also cover Bowling Alley (1 mile south-east), Crondall (1 mile south), Redlands (1 mile south-east), Dogmersfield (1 mile north) and Crookham Village (2 miles north). We also cater in nearby towns such as Guildford (13 miles east), Woking (14 miles east), Camberley (9 miles north-east), Farnham (4 miles south-east), Frimley (8 miles north-east) and Haslemere (13 miles south-east).

A little further out are Museum of Farnham (3.8 miles south-east) and Powderham Castle (2.4 miles south). Green spaces nearby include Tundry Hill and Dogmersfield Lake.

  • Nearby schools include Court Moor School (1.9 miles north-east)
  • Local pubs include The Exchequer pub (0.9 miles north)

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Space, access and the venue

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • Vehicle access before and after the event
  • Room for the truck or trailer and customers
  • Clear information on power, water and waste

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

The process

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. Summer events in Mill Lane have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, which helps evening trading. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. We check your dates.
  2. We agree what we will serve and where.
  3. We send the paperwork your event asks for.
  4. We’re ready to serve as visitors arrive.
  5. We trade, then pack down.

How to prepare

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
