Mexican street food for your event in The Hangers

One Mexican trader covers several diets: we serve vegan and vegetarian fillings and corn tortillas for gluten-free visitors. That makes your food line-up easier. It suits race days and sports events and county and country shows, with quesadillas, tacos and burrito bowls.

Near The Hangers, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a hot-food truck is a big help. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Questions from The Hangers

Can you trade at a school fair in The Hangers?

We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.

How far is The Hangers from London?

About 60 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Will you have a stall at our event?

Tell us about the event, dates and pitch, and we will check availability.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

Do you do crew catering?

Yes, at set times to suit your schedule. Send us numbers and times.

The process

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. By late September, it’s dark in The Hangers at around 7:10pm, so an evening programme will run partly after dusk. Organisers should plan that into the site layout.

  1. Organisers send us the event details, dates and pitch information.
  2. You get our stall menu, what we need at the pitch and the paperwork you request.
  3. On the day, we arrive in the set-up window and get ready to trade.
  4. We serve from the hatch through the trading times you set.
  5. We pack away and leave the pitch tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
